North Dallas Chamber of Commerce Committee List

Ambassadors:Recruit new members and encourage existing members to get involved in Chamber activities, committees and task forces through surveys and personal contact to ensure renewals. Meets third Friday of the month, 12:00 p.m., at the chamber.

Aviation: Supports the development of Love Field and DFW Airport. Hosts the annual Aviation Breakfast featuring industry leaders, held in the fall. Does not have a regular meeting date - meets on an as-needed basis.

Business Advisory Roundtable: A great opportunity to develop leads for your business and to network with other chamber members! Meets second and fourth Tuesday of the month, 7:30 a.m., at the chamber.

Education: The Education Committee meets monthly to discuss issues surrounding education and youth in our area. Meets fourth Tuesday of the month, 7:30 a.m., at the chamber.

Governmental Affairs: Monitors activities of Dallas City Council, Dallas County Commissioners Court and Texas Legislature. Activities include recommendations for position statements by chamber, recruitment of chamber members for city and county board and commission openings and sponsorship of candidate debates. Meets at the call of the committee co-chairmen.

Holiday Open House: Plans and executes the chamber's efforts to assist the Dallas Police Department's Santa Cops Program. This committee plans a gathering for approximately 300 guests and also honors local public officials and other elected officials with jurisdiction over the North Dallas area. Convenes in early November, meets biweekly through December.

LBJ Task Force: Monitors the progress of improvements to LBJ Freeway and the High Five Interchange. Meets bi-monthly with representatives of the Texas Department of Transportation for project updates. Meets second Tuesday of February, April, June, August, and October, 7:30 am, at the chamber.

Lots O'Leads: A great opportunity to develop leads for your business and to network with other chamber members! This group is open to all business categories. Meets first and third Monday of the month, 12:00pm, at the chamber.

Power & Energy: Studies and educates members on the impact of power and energy on the local economy, focusing on competitiveness of the market, environmental concerns, transmission and public policy. Meets at the call of the committee chairman.

Small Business: The Small Business Committee oversees a variety of programs and seminars designed for business development, such as the Business Toolbox Seminars, A.M. Exchange, North Dallas After Hours and Business of the Year. Open to all NDCC members. Meets third Tuesday of the month, 7:30 a.m., at the chamber.

Surface Transportation: Maintains a leadership role in street and highway improvement projects. This committee hosts regular meetings with leadership of local, state and public works agencies, sponsors an annual transportation forum and represents NDCC in DART issues and projects. Meets second Tuesday in January, March, May, September and November, 7:30 a.m., at the chamber.

Technology Advisory: This committee manages the NDCC website, makes decisions about chamber hardware and software issues and discusses how technology impacts business. Meets first Wednesday of the month, 3:00 p.m., at the chamber.

Young Professionals: Manages the activities of the Young Professionals group, including mentoring, membership, communications and community outreach. Meets the second Wednesday of the month, 12:00 p.m., at the chamber.
